E-commerce in Fez: selling from the workshop, not through the bazaar

For centuries Fez has made what others now resell online. A store in your own name gets you closer to the person who actually buys, in Fez or overseas. We build it around what makes your goods hard to sell at a distance. The weight. The breakage. The handmade variation. The custom orders.

In short

Tourak Digital Group builds online shops for craftspeople and retailers in Fez. Zellige, brass and copper, leather, kaftans, pastries. Product pages give the material, the dimensions and how much is handmade. Shipping for heavy or fragile pieces, and made-to-order work with a deposit, are planned from the start. Payment by CMI card, and cash on delivery for orders inside Morocco. Free quote on +212 7 70 41 56 37 or +212 7 88 09 29 51.

Two markets, one city

1,167,842 people in the municipality at the 2024 census. So first, a big local market. Fashion and kaftans, wedding outfit rental, Fassi pastries, appliances, pharmacy goods. These shops deliver the same day across Saïss, Narjiss, Zouagha and the new town, and take cash at the door.

Then a distant one. The traveller who bought a brass tray on Seffarine Square wants the matching tea set once back in Lyon or Madrid. The Fassi family in Brussels is looking for the embroidery their mother used to make. They may never come back to the medina. Your website stays open.

What a craft product page has to say

Someone buying from far away can’t touch the piece or lift it. The page does that for them.

  • Measured dimensions and weight, with a tape, not a guess. A zellige table or a copper lantern is judged on size first.
  • Material and finish. Brass or copper, hand-tanned leather, the glaze on Aïn Nokbi pottery.
  • Handmade variation, because no two pieces are the same. Saying so prevents returns and adds value.
  • The workshop. Who makes it, where, for how long. One photo of the craftsman at work beats a paragraph.

Shipping the heavy and the fragile

Zellige is heavy. Ceramics break. A leather pouf takes up room. The store has to price shipping by weight, volume and destination, not a flat fee that wipes out the margin on every big piece.

We set up zones. Fez and its outskirts with your courier, the rest of Morocco by carrier, international by rate table or quote. Packing, breakage and insurance terms are written down, and overseas buyers are told before checkout that import duties in their country are theirs to pay.

Custom orders, rentals, deposits

Some of the Fez trade doesn’t fit in a standard cart. A zellige table gets made to the buyer’s measurements. A kaftan or takchita gets rented for a wedding date. So the store offers a guided quote form (size, colours, deadline), a booking calendar that locks the date as soon as the deposit lands, and the deposit itself paid by card through CMI, Moroccan or foreign, with the balance settled on delivery or collection.

Wedding season, mostly summer, is when double bookings happen. The calendar stops you promising the same outfit twice for the same Saturday.

Before and after launch

Before, you need terms of sale in line with Law 31-08, including the seven-day withdrawal right for distance sales (made-to-measure items excepted), and a privacy policy. After, we train whoever handles orders and watch the first weeks of sales with you.

A store with no visitors sells nothing. So the work goes on with SEO in Fez. The full service is on the online stores page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell abroad from Fez?

Yes. The store takes foreign cards through CMI and prices international shipping. Customers pay in dirhams and their bank converts. Import duties are flagged before they buy.

Every piece I make is unique. How is stock handled?

Each one-off piece gets its own page with a stock of one, and flips to “sold” the moment it’s ordered. Series become variants, by size, colour or finish.

Do I need professional photos?

You need sharp daylight photos from several angles, with something in the frame that shows scale. We explain how to do it on a phone, or set up a shoot if the catalogue justifies it.
