Trokido: the classifieds site we built to sell, swap and give away in Morocco

A kaftan worn once, a pushchair your child has outgrown, a phone you have just replaced. Trokido is the second-hand platform we built for exactly those things: the total with fees appears before you order, and the buyer pays cash when the item arrives.

Available in French, Arabic and English.

In short

Trokido (trokido.com) is a second-hand classifieds marketplace designed, built and run by Tourak Digital Group, where people sell, buy, swap, rent out or give away items spread across 17 categories, from fashion to property. Listing is free for private sellers. Buyers pay cash on delivery. An Android app sits alongside the website, and Morocco, Mauritania and France each have their own catalogue.

Why Tourak Digital built Trokido

In Meknes as in Fes, second-hand goods already change hands at the souk, in Facebook groups and on WhatsApp statuses, but when a parcel paid in advance by transfer never arrives, or arrives broken, there is nobody to complain to.

Trokido reverses the order. Nothing is paid when you order: you hand cash to the courier, or to the seller at a meet-up, and then have 48 hours to report a problem. It is not a client project. The group designed the platform, wrote the code and runs it.

What the agency learns from it

Three languages, one of them Arabic read right to left, meant a mirrored layout for every screen. Cash on delivery called for a 6-digit hand-over code and a 48-hour window for complaints. Property and job listings are reviewed before they go live. The platform runs on Laravel and PostgreSQL; the app is written in Flutter.

A shop may need the same building blocks: a bilingual catalogue, an order paid on delivery. See our mobile apps and online shops.

How it works

Selling, buying, swapping and giving away

Four ways to use Trokido. The steps follow the ones described on the site.

  1. Sell

    1. Take a photo of the item. One is enough, twenty at most.
    2. Type a title and Trokido suggests the category, brand and size.
    3. Choose sale, swap, or both.
    4. Once ordered, ship within five working days using the label provided.

    Post a listing

  2. Buy

    1. Search by keyword, then sort by distance, price or newest.
    2. Check the total: the amount including fees sits under every price.
    3. Pick delivery or a meeting. Nothing is paid at this stage.
    4. Pay when the item arrives, then you have 48 hours to raise a problem.

    Browse listings in Morocco

  3. Swap

    1. Offer one of your items, or up to five, for the one you like.
    2. Add a cash top-up if the values differ.
    3. The swap only exists once both of you confirm it, within 24 hours.
    4. Each side has 48 hours to report a fault.

    See items open to swaps

  4. Give away

    1. For the giver: a photo and a title, just like a sale.
    2. Free items are grouped under the “Free” filter in search.
    3. Whoever wants it messages you to arrange a pick-up.
    4. If you do not know each other, meet in a public place.

Catalogue

Trokido's 17 categories

From fashion to job ads, each category has its own rules: what gets shipped, what gets rented, what is settled in person. The photos show the kind of items expected; they are not real listings.

Rail of women's clothes on white hangers: patterned blouses, plain tops, a printed dress and green trousers
Blouses, a dress, trousers: typical end-of-season resales.
Pair of beige high-heeled court shoes in perforated leather on a white background
Shoes and bags have their own sections.

01Sell · swap · give away

Women

Maxi dresses, evening kaftans, summer djellabas, handbags, plus a separate beauty section. One photo is enough to publish and the listing can be open to sale, swap or both, but give the real size and mention every flaw, since the buyer has 48 hours after delivery to complain if something is wrong.

Four men's shirts fanned out on white marble: white, light blue, striped and navy
Laid flat, a shirt can be read at a glance.
Tight row of brown, tan and black leather jackets hanging on a rail
Leather jackets: measurements beat a size label.

02Sell · swap · give away

Men

Shirts, leather jackets, shoes, watches, grooming products. Photograph clothes laid flat in daylight and give measurements rather than just a size. For an expensive jacket, a hand-over in a public place puts both sides at ease.

Small pastel baby clothes hanging on wooden hangers
Baby clothes, often worn for only a few weeks.
Old red doll's pram with white wheels in front of flea-market stalls
Toys, prams and pushchairs have their own section.

03Sell · swap · give away

Kids

Bodysuits, pushchairs, toys, school bags: the category holds twelve families of items, including one for baby safety and one for feeding. A school bag still in good shape can also be given away. Listed at 0 MAD, it shows up under the “Free” filter.

White porcelain teapot on a blue and white woven placemat in front of a bright window
Teapots and tea sets sit under tableware.
Cactus-print cushion, orange cushion and fringed orange throw on a grey sofa
Cushions and throws, filed under textiles.

04Sell · swap · give away

Home

Teapots, trays, cushions, small appliances, tools, plants: Home has thirteen families, from kitchen to garden, one fewer than Services. Crafts have their own section, where a hand-woven Berber kilim listed from Fes sits among the example listings, and heavy items like that one can travel with a carrier to another city or be handed over in person.

Retro-style silver and black compact camera with its strap, resting on black and white prints
A retro compact: say whether the battery is included.
Black smartphone with a blank screen lying flat on wooden slats
For a phone, a photo with the screen on says it all.

05Sell · swap · give away

Electronics

Phones, laptops, consoles, cameras, and also tablets and connected devices. A photo with the screen on shows the device works; next to it, list what comes with it, charger, box or receipt. Paid on delivery, the device stays covered for 48 hours, time enough to report a fault.

White wedding dress with a lace bodice and tulle skirt hanging against a beige wall
Rented for the evening, then returned.
Gold tiara set with dark stones and rhinestones on a pale mauve background
Tiaras, veils and bridal jewellery can be rented too.

06For rent

Rental

A wedding dress, a takchita, a jabador or a bridal crown is worn for one evening, sometimes two. Trokido gives them a rental category with eight sections: evening dresses, kaftans, suits, henna and engagement outfits, children's ceremony wear. If the owner asks for a deposit, it is returned when the outfit comes back.

Four embroidered kaftans in ochre, red and purple on mannequins, outdoors with palm trees behind
Buy for a celebration, rent for a single night.
Bright leather babouches in pink, orange, natural, burgundy and black, some sequined, on a stall
Embroidered babouches to match the outfit.

07Sell · swap · give away

Weddings & ceremonies

This one is for buying and reselling: bridal and groom outfits, guest outfits, henna, khotba, Eid and sbouâ. Bridal sets, mdammas belts and neggafa accessories have their own section. A takchita worn once keeps its value, so it might as well dress another bride.

Four ornate silver-tone pendants with beads and tassels hanging from fine chains
Ornate pendants: shoot the hallmark up close.
Steel chronograph watch with a grey dial and gold hands on dark wood
A watch sells better with its box and papers.

09Sell · swap · give away

Designer items

Jewellery, watches, signed pieces: the designer category, for women and men, gathers items where the brand or the workshop sets the price. Show the signature, the hallmark or the certificate. The pricier the item, the more sense a hand-over makes.

Row of old bound books and paperbacks standing on a market stall
A box of books can be sold as one lot.
Hands flicking through crates of vinyl records and comics in a record shop
Vinyl and comics, under music and books.

10Sell · swap · give away

Books and media

Novels, textbooks, magazines, records, films: enough to clear a shelf without throwing anything away. Textbooks pass from one school year to the next. And a box of books can just as well be swapped for something else.

Colourful board game with blue, green, yellow and red pawns and two white dice
A complete game: count the pieces before listing.
Dark green electric guitar lying flat with its cable plugged in
Instruments: mention any case or amp included.

11Sell · swap · give away

Hobbies and collectables

Board games, puzzles, instruments, stamps, coins, postcards. Collectors search with precise words. Write the year, the edition, the model. A guitar or a stamp album can also go in a swap, with a top-up if the values differ.

Old copper-coloured city bike leaning against a rendered wall under a barred window
A bike: give the frame size and the state of the brakes.
Two black hexagonal dumbbells on a white background, black and white photo
Heavy to ship, easy to hand over.

12Sell · swap · give away

Sports

Bikes, yoga mats, dumbbells, rackets, martial arts kit, scooters: twelve families, from cycling to winter sports. A bike does not fit in a parcel, so a hand-over or a carrier's trip between two cities solves it. Remember to give the frame size.

Small white 1970s estate car parked side-on in a city street
Cars are sold in person, papers in hand.
Blue retro scooter parked on cobbles in front of a yellow wall and a blue arched door
Motorbikes and scooters, with parts and gear.

13Local listing, meet in person

Vehicles

Cars, motorbikes, scooters, vans, car parts. Whatever does not fit in a parcel is sold by appointment: the listing brings you together, the sale is settled between you, with no money paid to Trokido. Test drive, registration, papers: check it all on the spot.

White modern flat-roofed house with large windows, a terrace, a pool and a palm tree under blue sky
Sales and rentals, reviewed before they go live.
Open-plan flat: black and wood kitchen units, an island with bar stools
View the place before any payment.

14Reviewed before going live

Real estate

Homes for sale, rentals, house shares. Every property listing is reviewed by the team before it goes live. One simple rule for tenants: view first, pay later, and never send a deposit just to see a flat.

Carpentry workshop: wooden workbenches, tools on the walls and daylight from the windows
Internships and apprenticeships have their own section.
Large empty open-plan office with a long table, chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows
Job offers and requests, reviewed before going live.

15Reviewed before going live

Jobs

Job offers, people looking for work, internships and apprenticeships, also reviewed before going live. A craftsman looking for an apprentice can post here, and a student can offer their services. Worth knowing: a genuine employer never charges you to apply.

Courier in a helmet riding a scooter with a yellow delivery box down a street
Removals, transport, errands: local services.
Carpenter's hands marking a pencil line on a plank, wood shavings on the bench
Repairs and woodwork: a skill rather than an object.

16Local listing, meet in person

Services

Private lessons, removals, phone repairs, plumbing, sewing, henna at home, neggafa, catering, photographers: fourteen families of services. You are not selling an object here. You are offering a trade, so say which neighbourhood, which hours and what the price covers.

Antique black sewing machine with gold decoration and a hand wheel on a wooden cabinet
Sewing machines, from neighbourhood tailor to textile workshop.
Yellow and black cordless drill, hammer, drill bits and screws on planks covered in sawdust
Tools and building-site equipment.

17Local listing, meet in person

Professional equipment

Industrial sewing machines, café and restaurant equipment, market-stall gear, building-site or farm machinery. A workshop that closes or upgrades can sell what still runs. With this kind of equipment, the sale is settled in person, machine running.

Delivery, hand-overs and trips between cities

Depending on an item's size and how far it has to go, Trokido offers three ways to hand it over.

  • Hand-over in person

Meet in a public place with a hand-over code. This is how local listings work: cars, homes, jobs.

    Read how it works

  • Delivery within the city

In the cities where the service is open, an independent courier takes the item across town and keeps 92.5% of the fare. The service opens city by city.

Become a courier in your city

  • Trips between cities

Approved carriers post their routes, Meknes to Casablanca for instance. You book a space for your item and the carrier sets the price.

App

Trokido's Android app

The same listings as the website, plus notifications: an offer received, an order accepted, a parcel shipped, and you know without opening a browser.

  • Quick messaging to reply to a buyer between two appointments.
  • Take the photo in the app and list the item without going through your gallery.
  • Sign in with the same email address as on the site.

Only trokido.com/application offers the genuine installation file; an APK received by message does not come from Trokido. On iPhone, use the website in Safari.

Total price, hand-over code, review: the safeguards

The rules Trokido applies, and a few habits worth keeping.

  • The full price, fees included, is shown before you order.
  • You pay on delivery, not before, then have 48 hours to report a problem.
  • Hand-overs: a public place and a hand-over code.
  • Property and job listings are reviewed before going live.
  • For a flat, never pay anything before the viewing.
  • The team answers in writing, usually within 24 hours.

Morocco, Mauritania, France

Each country has its own catalogue, and you buy in the country where you live. From our Meknes office, the two closest pages are Meknes and Fes.

Frequently asked questions

Is Trokido a Tourak Digital client?

No. It is one of the group's own products: Tourak Digital designed it, develops it and runs it. That is why it sits among our work.

How much does it cost to list an item?

Nothing for a private seller, neither to publish nor when the item sells. The buyer pays a protection fee, shown in the total before ordering.

Do I need a bank card to buy?

No. For now the only payment method is cash, handed to the courier when the parcel arrives or to the seller at the meet-up.

Can I buy from Meknes something listed in Mauritania or France?

No. Seller and buyer must be in the same country: from Meknes, you can only buy in Morocco.

How does a swap work?

Pick a listing that accepts swaps and offer one of your own items, or a bundle of up to five. A cash top-up evens out any difference in value. Without confirmation from both sides within 24 hours there is no swap; after delivery, each side has 48 hours to report a fault.

Is there an iPhone app?

No, only Android for now, using the file offered on trokido.com/application. An iPhone can open the website in Safari and pin it to the home screen.

Why do some listings say they are an example?

Because Trokido has only just opened. Demo listings show what a listing page looks like; they are clearly marked and nothing in them is for sale.

Can Tourak Digital build a platform like this for my business?

That is what we do: websites, online shops and apps. Tell us about your project on the contact page and we will tell you what is feasible and what it costs.

A platform like this for your business?

Trokido was built by the same team that makes websites for shops and businesses in Meknes, Fes and Ifrane. Marketplace, catalogue or app? Write to us from the contact page with what you sell and in which cities.
