Tangier and the Strait
Web design in Tangier, with Tourak Digital’s local branch
Tourak Digital Group has a branch in Tangier. The local team will meet you by appointment, and the rest can run on WhatsApp or video when that suits you better. Sites come in French, Arabic, Spanish and English, prices are published, and pages are written for people looking for a supplier in Tangier rather than for a directory listing.
In short
Tourak Digital Group builds websites, online stores and Google Business profiles for companies in Tangier. The group has a branch in Tangier, with a local team you can meet by appointment; this site belongs to the network, whose base is in Meknes (IMM Richel No. 17, Avenue des FAR). It starts with a meeting, a phone call or WhatsApp on +212 7 88 09 29 51, then a free written quote. A brochure website starts at 2,900 MAD and is delivered in one week; an online store starts at 5,000 MAD and SEO at 1,900 MAD a month. In Tangier, sites come in French, Arabic, Spanish and English as standard.
Tangier grew by a third in ten years
The 2024 census counted 1,275,428 people in Tangier, up from 947,952 in 2014, and more than 1.49 million across the Tanger-Assilah prefecture. Few Moroccan cities have grown this fast. You can see it in the new districts going up every year, and in the competitors who claimed their spot in Google results long before most local shops did.
The port drives most of it. Tanger Med opened in 2007 on the Strait, east of the city, and its port authority reports 10.24 million containers (TEU) handled in 2024. Free zones grew around it, then the Renault plant at Melloussa, which started production in 2012. Suppliers followed, and after them freight forwarders, hauliers and staffing agencies.
Since 2018 the Al Boraq high-speed train has linked Tangier with Kenitra, Rabat and Casablanca. A buyer from Casablanca can come up and go home the same day, so he weighs Tangier suppliers against the ones in his own city. That comparison usually starts on a phone screen.
Tangier is still a port town people pass through, too: the medina, the kasbah, the cafés of Marshan, the beaches at Malabata, and the travellers stepping off the ferry from Tarifa at Tanger Ville. The same restaurant may feed engineers from Melloussa at lunch and a Spanish family at dinner.
Districts and business zones: who your website talks to
A "near me" search does not return the same results in Malabata as in Beni Makada. Your site and your Google profile have to say clearly where you are and who you serve.
- Medina, kasbah, Grand Socco. Guesthouses, bazaars, guides, cafés. Visitors search on their phones, often in English or Spanish, and book late.
- Marshan and Iberia. Residential areas close to the centre, with clinics, private schools and food shops. People find you by name or by speciality.
- Malabata. The seafront on the east side of the bay, with hotels, restaurants and newer apartment blocks. Locals and tourists type much the same queries here.
- Beni Makada, Mesnana, Boukhalef. Dense or fast-growing neighbourhoods where people look for a dentist, a driving school, an electrician or a caterer a few streets away. The Google profile often matters more than the website.
- Gzenaya and Mghogha. Industrial estates heavy on garment making and subcontracting. Buyers are professionals, some of them European, who want to see your capacity before they write.
- Tanger Free Zone, Tanger Automotive City, Tanger Med. The free zone near the airport has operated since 1999, Tanger Automotive City since 2013. Companies there read supplier websites in English and French before they shortlist anyone.
Down the Atlantic coast, Asilah (36,039 people in 2024) lives off its beaches, its summer crowds and its long-running arts festival. A guesthouse in Asilah does not compete like a Malabata hotel, so we handle it separately.
Tangier trades that gain most from a proper website
Logistics, haulage, customs brokerage. A shipper looking for a forwarder in Tangier searches from Casablanca, Madrid or Lyon, in French or English. He wants to know what you carry, your licences, your routes and who to call.
Industrial and automotive subcontracting. Machining, wiring harnesses, maintenance, industrial cleaning, contract catering. Purchasing teams in the free zones build supplier lists online. An English site that shows your certifications and real equipment gets you on that list.
Real estate. Tangier builds a lot, and some buyers live abroad. A developer needs clean property pages, readable floor plans, honest photos and an enquiry form that reaches the sales team.
Hotels, riads, restaurants. Booking platforms take a cut of every night. A site in your own name that ranks well on Google Maps brings repeat guests straight back to you.
Healthcare, schools, language centres. The population grew by more than a third in ten years. New families arrive with no local contacts and search for everything, from a paediatrician to a primary school.
Shops and tradespeople. Stores on Boulevard Pasteur, workshops, hardware shops, air-conditioning installers. Three things matter most: an accurate Google profile, current opening hours and a phone that gets answered.
What we do for Tangier businesses, and what it costs
- Brochure website from 2,900 MAD, delivered in one week once the copy and photos are in. Fast on mobile, built around your own pictures, with a tested contact form.
- Online store from 5,000 MAD. Timing depends on catalogue size and payment method, and it is written into the quote.
- SEO from 1,900 MAD a month: keyword research by district and by language, a page for each service, monthly tracking in Search Console.
- Google Business Profile set up from scratch or recovered if it already exists, with the right category, recent photos and a reply to every review.
- Mobile app for customers who order every week or track deliveries.
- Online advertising limited to Tangier and its prefecture, or aimed at Spain and France if that is where your buyers are.
The group has delivered 33 websites so far, and part of the team works from Troyes, in France. For a Tangier company selling across the Strait, that helps: we know how a French buyer looks for a supplier and what he expects to read before asking for a price.
Working with our Tangier branch
It starts with a meeting with the Tangier team, a call to +212 7 70 41 56 37 or a WhatsApp message to +212 7 88 09 29 51. You tell us what you sell, to whom, and what is not working today.
Next we look at what Google already shows about you in Tangier: your profile, your reviews, directories still listing an old number, and the three or four competitors who appear above you. You get that review in writing with the quote. Both are free and commit you to nothing.
For photos there are two routes. You take them yourself from a short shot list we send (shopfront, team, workshop, products), or you hire a Tangier photographer and we brief them.
While the site is being built, it lives on a test address. You browse it on your phone, comment over WhatsApp, and we fix things. Before launch we check speed, form delivery, the map and the small-screen layout.
After launch, the same team stays on it, in person or over WhatsApp. SEO clients get their rankings and enquiry count every month. If you want to talk things through face to face, the Tangier branch will see you by appointment. To get started, use the contact page.

Frequently asked questions
Who handles my project in Tangier?
The team at our Tangier branch, with one contact person from the first meeting to well after launch. You can meet them, or do everything by phone, WhatsApp and video. Approvals happen on a test address you open on your phone.
Does a Tangier business need a Spanish version?
Often, yes. A medina guesthouse or a restaurant near the port sees plenty of visitors from Spain. In Tangier our sites come in French, Arabic, Spanish and English: that is the standard offer, not an add-on. And we never publish raw machine translation.
I supply companies in a Tangier free zone. What do I need?
A site in English and French that shows your capacity, machines, certifications and lead times, plus a request-for-quote form that reaches the right person. Buyers compare several suppliers before replying to one.
How much does a website cost for a Tangier company?
A brochure site starts at 2,900 MAD and takes one week. An online store starts at 5,000 MAD, with timing set in the quote. SEO starts at 1,900 MAD a month. The exact figure goes into a free written quote.
How long before I show up on Google Maps in Tangier?
A complete Google profile can appear on Maps soon after verification. The website climbs over several months, faster in a quiet district than on the Malabata seafront. We promise no ranking; we show you every month what moved.
Do you also cover Asilah and the towns around Tangier?
Yes. Asilah, Gueznaia, Ksar Sghir and Fnideq are handled by the same Tangier team, with keywords specific to each town rather than a copied Tangier page.
