Zen à l’Oriental: a website and a digital loyalty card

Paper loyalty cards end up at the bottom of a bag or in the washing machine. For Zen à l’Oriental we moved the card to the phone, and built the booking site alongside it.

In short

Tourak Digital Group built the website of Zen à l’Oriental, a massage and wellness salon run by Imane Lachiri on rue de la Mission in central Troyes, France. The site covers the salon, hours and an appointment request form. We also made a ten-stamp digital loyalty card that lives on the customer’s phone, and an Android app the salon uses to stamp it in a second.

What the site includes

What visitors can do on it

  • The salon and its owner
  • Appointment request form with the preferred time slot
  • Opening hours with an open or closed indicator
  • Address and directions
  • Customer reviews, with links to Google and Facebook
  • Digital loyalty card with ten stamps, installed on the phone
  • Back office for the owner

Main sections of the site

  • The salon
  • Reviews
  • Hours and directions
  • Book
  • Loyalty card

The salon

A small appointment-only salon: relaxing massage, hot stone massage, oriental scrubs, facials. A warm setting with an oriental touch, as the salon itself puts it. Long weekday hours, shorter on Saturdays, closed Sundays.

The problem

You can’t answer the phone in the middle of a massage, and a missed call often means a lost booking because the customer rings somewhere else. Paper loyalty cards get lost or forgotten, and a regular who forgets hers three times gives up.

What we made

  • A one-page site: salon, reviews, hours, directions, form.
  • Appointment requests: name, phone, preferred day and time. Imane calls back to confirm.
  • A digital loyalty card: ten stamps and a QR code shown at the desk, saved to the home screen, with appointment reminders.
  • An Android app for the salon to scan and stamp between clients.

For customers

Someone who thinks of booking at 10 pm sends a request instead of waiting for morning. The card is on a phone she never forgets, and she can see when the free treatment is coming.

Why not an app store app

The card is an installable web app: no store, no account. Scan, accept, and the icon appears. For a small business, that is the difference between a tool people use and one they ignore. It works just as well for a hammam or a barber in Meknes: see mobile apps.

Frequently asked questions

Does the site book slots automatically?

No, it sends a request. Imane calls back to confirm, so she keeps control of her diary.

Do customers need to download an app for the card?

No. It is added to the home screen from the browser, with no store and no account.
