Grill Avenue, Troyes: a website for a halal grill before opening day

A restaurant that hasn’t opened yet still needs to show up on Google. Grill Avenue asked us for a site while the builders were still in, so the neighbourhood would know what was coming.

In short

Tourak Digital Group built the website of Grill Avenue, a halal grill restaurant at 37 rue Louis Mony in central Troyes, France. The site announces the opening, lists the full menu with prices (sandwiches, plates, skewers, burgers), the service options (eat in, drive-through, delivery) and runs a blog about dishes such as kebda.

Grilled to order

Chicken, beef, kefta, merguez and kebda (grilled liver, a North African classic). Skewers threaded by hand. Fries cut on site. Bread is a fresh baguette. Nothing waits under a heat lamp.

The street already has plenty of kebab shops.

The real problem

Search “kebab Troyes” and Google shows places that have been around for years. A newcomer starts from nothing. So the site went live during the works with an “opening soon” banner, giving Google a head start on the address.

The owner also wanted prices on display. In this trade, if people can’t see what a sandwich costs, they walk next door.

What we put online

  • Home page: the opening, four house rules, and how you can order.
  • Menu with a filter by meat and a price on every item.
  • Address and hours.
  • A blog with posts on kebda, skewers and a butcher-style burger, each one aimed at a real search.

For the people who eat there

A student checks what ten euros buys. A family looks for plates, not only sandwiches. Someone who has never tried kebda reads three short paragraphs and orders with confidence.

How it’s built

A static site: HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript for the menu filter, hosted at O2Switch. Restaurant structured data for Google. Opening a place in Meknes or Fes? See SEO and Google Business Profile.

Frequently asked questions

Why launch a restaurant website before opening?

Google takes time to trust a new address. A site that goes live during the works already has some history on opening day.

Does a blog help a restaurant?

It does when each post answers a real search, like “kebda Troyes”. It brings in people who didn’t know the name yet.
