Selling online
How can I sell Moroccan products to customers abroad?
Tourists buy in the workshop or the cooperative, fly home and want to reorder six months later. Without a website, they cannot find you.
The short answer
You need a site in English and French that shows where the products come from, card payments through your bank, solid packaging and an international carrier. Food products must meet ONSSA rules in Morocco and the import rules of the destination country. Tourak Digital Group builds these stores for producers and artisans around Meknes and Fes.
Tell the story behind the product
“Olive oil, 1 litre” sells nothing. Picholine olives picked in November near Aïn Taoujdate, cold pressed, in a one-litre tin: that sells. A copper tray hammered in Seffarine square, with a short video of the artisan at work: that sells too.
Two ways to sell abroad
Easier: the Moroccan diaspora pays from abroad and you deliver to family in Morocco. No customs. Harder: shipping abroad, which brings packaging, carrier costs and import rules, especially for food.
Getting paid
Cash on delivery does not work for someone in Lyon or Montreal. Card payments through your bank contract are needed, with a bank transfer option for large orders.
