Selling online

How does cash on delivery work in Morocco?

Many online purchases in Morocco are still paid in cash at the door. Easy for the buyer, risky for the seller. It can be managed.

The short answer

The customer orders online and pays the courier on delivery; the courier then transfers the money to you. The main risk is refused parcels, so confirm every order by phone or WhatsApp before shipping, set delivery rates per city, and choose a courier that pays out quickly. Tourak Digital Group builds these steps into the store.

The real problem is the refused parcel

Someone orders late at night on impulse and does not pick up when the courier calls. You pay for the trip out and the trip back, and the item returns worn. You cannot remove the risk. You can shrink it a lot.

What we build into the store

  • Every new order starts as “to confirm”, with a one-tap button to call or WhatsApp the customer.
  • A required phone number, checked against Moroccan formats.
  • Delivery rates by city.
  • A clear note on product pages about delivery time and cost.

Choosing a courier

Look hardest at how fast they transfer the cash. Your cash flow depends on it more than on their price per parcel.

Cards can come later: see card payments. More on online stores and e-commerce in Meknes.
