Selling online

Can my business in Morocco take card payments online?

Card payments are decided at the bank, not at the agency. We connect the website once the bank says yes.

The short answer

Yes. In Morocco, online card payments usually go through CMI, under an e-commerce contract signed with your bank. You need a registered business and a business account, and each bank sets its own conditions. The agency then plugs the payment gateway into the site and tests it before launch.

The order of steps

Bank first. Ask your adviser for an online payment contract. Expect to show your company registration, your ICE number and a business account. Some banks look at the website before approving.

Then us. The bank sends gateway credentials, we connect them to the cart, run test payments, then switch to live.

What the bank checks on your site

Terms of sale, a legal notice with your company details, delivery and refund policies, a working phone number and address. We write these with you before the application.

Moroccan consumer law (Law 31-08) gives buyers seven days to withdraw from a distance purchase. Your terms need to say so.

You do not have to start with cards

Plenty of Moroccan stores open with cash on delivery and add cards once the bank contract is through. You sell while the paperwork moves.
