Fez and around

Web design in Imouzzer Kandar

About 40 km south of Fez, around 1,300 metres up, in Sefrou province. In summer the cooler air brings families up from the plain. In autumn, it’s apples. In between, Imouzzer Kandar has to be found at the right moment, and not a week late.

A town that runs on the calendar

The orchards grow Golden Delicious, Kala, Rome Beauty. The apple festival is past its thirteenth edition. The Tamazirte festival happens in August. And the town bottles a low-sodium mineral water, Aïn Soltane.

So searches about Imouzzer come in waves. With the July heat, with the harvest, with each festival, then they drop off again. A business that wants its share has to be visible a few weeks before each wave. In the middle of it is already late.

Seasonal SEO in practice

Before June, the Google profile switches to summer, with summer hours, terrace photos and the menu. We publish a “things to do around Imouzzer” page, because Dayet Aoua lake is about 10 km away and there’s forest and springs all around.

Growers get an order page that opens before the harvest, with the varieties and how much is available. Landlords should say clearly how far Fez is, and what’s within walking distance.

That’s our SEO work in the Middle Atlas. No mass-produced pages. Content that follows the town’s calendar, planned a season ahead so each page is indexed before people start looking.

A family plans a weekend

Two days in Imouzzer. They want somewhere to stay with recent photos, a place to eat with the kids, and something to do in the afternoon. Answer one of those and you’re in their plans, and if you answer several of them, together with your neighbours, yours is the address they pass on to their cousins when they get home.

A shared page for several businesses works well here. A small local guide, linking to each one. It answers a real question, and Google tends to like pages like that.

Who needs a website in Imouzzer

Cafés, restaurants and pastry shops living off traffic on the Ifrane road. Flat and villa owners renting for summer and weekends. Fruit growers and traders selling to wholesalers or households.

And associations announcing a festival. A clear web page is still there next year. A story is gone in 24 hours.

Imouzzer sits on the road between Fez and Ifrane, so a business here can draw on both. To get going on Maps, see our Google Business Profile service.

Frequently asked questions

We only trade in summer. Should the site stay online all year?

Yes. Google takes time to trust a site. Off-season we switch it to pre-season mode, with a pre-booking form and a few updates, rather than taking it down.

Is Imouzzer too small for SEO to be worth it?

No. Fewer searches, yes, but far fewer competitors too. A well-written page can rank for “Imouzzer Kandar rental” or “Imouzzer restaurant” more easily than a Fez business can rank for the same thing in Fez.

Can we sell apples online?

Yes, by the crate to households in Fez and Meknes, or in bulk to trade buyers. The site takes the order. You handle delivery or collection.

Does a festival need its own website?

Not necessarily. A permanent page on the association’s site, updated each edition, is enough. It keeps its history, photos and partners, and gains weight year after year.

Do we need an English version?

If you rent to students or staff from Al Akhawayn in Ifrane, or to foreign tourists, yes. For a neighbourhood café, Arabic and French will do.
