Zerda Gold: live gold prices on the shop wall

In a Turkish jewellery shop the first question isn’t “how much is this bracelet”. It’s “what’s gold at today”. Zerda Gold wanted the answer on the wall, accurate, without anyone copying it out by hand.

In short

Tourak Digital Group built a gold price display for Zerda Gold, a Turkish-style jeweller (kuyumcu). The in-store screen shows buy and sell prices for a gram of gold and for coins (quarter, half, full, Reşat), in Turkish and French, with the time of the last update. Prices refresh on their own.

What the site includes

What visitors can do on it

  • Gold buying and selling prices
  • Price per gram
  • Coin prices: quarter, half, full, Reşat
  • Turkish and French on the same screen
  • Date and time of the last update
  • Prices fetched automatically
  • Built for a TV screen in the shop, also readable on a phone

Main sections of the site

  • Gold price screen (single page)

The shop

Bracelets, sets, and above all gold coins given at weddings and births. People also sell their gold here. Everything is priced at the day’s rate, and customers compare before they buy.

The old way

Many jewellers write prices on a sheet taped to the window each morning. Slow, error-prone, and frozen all day while the market moves. Staff repeat the same numbers twenty times a day.

What’s on the site

  • Price per gram, buy and sell.
  • The coins people ask for: quarter, half, full, Reşat.
  • Date and time of the last update.
  • Two languages on one screen.

The jeweller switches the screen on in the morning and leaves it. The same link works on a phone for customers who want to check before coming in.

In the shop

Customers walk in, look up, read the price. The conversation starts with the piece they want, not the rate. And the number on screen is the market’s, not the seller’s, which builds trust faster.

Tech notes

A PHP and JavaScript page on O2Switch that polls a price source and refreshes without reloading. Any screen with a browser will do. Jeweller in Meknes or Fes? We can show prices in dirhams, in Arabic and French: see website design.
