What are the data protection rules for websites in Morocco?

A simple contact form that collects a name and phone number is already processing personal data under Moroccan law.

The short answer

Morocco’s Law 09-08 applies as soon as your site collects personal data: contact forms, quotes, orders, newsletters. Processing generally has to be declared to the CNDP, and sensitive data such as health requires prior authorisation. Your site also needs a clear privacy policy. Tourak Digital Group prepares these pages with you.

What counts

The contact form. The quote request. Customer accounts. Newsletter sign-ups. Job applications. Whenever you keep a name, an email or a phone number, you are processing personal data. The filing is done online with the CNDP: what you collect, why, for how long, and who sees it.

What the site must show

A readable privacy policy, not text copied from a European site. Who is responsible, what is collected, why, retention, and how to ask for access or deletion. A short line under each form. The CNDP receipt number once the filing is done.

Ask for less

We see forms asking for national ID numbers for a simple quote. Pointless and risky. Fewer fields, less to protect.

Frequently asked questions

Do you file the declaration for me?

We prepare the technical details of the site with you; the filing is made in the name of the data controller, which is your company.

Does this apply to analytics cookies?

They collect data too, so they belong in the privacy policy.
